From professional speakers to curriculums to contests, PennDOT and its partners offer a variety of resources for educators to help increase students´ awareness of highway safety.

Drive Safe PA Radio PSA Contest

As part of its “Drive Safe PA” radio contest, PennDOT asks high school sophomores, juniors and seniors to create a 30-second radio PSA focused on aggressive driving, buckling up or driving under the influence.

The winning entries for the 2010 contest are now available.

High School Safe Driving Competitions

PennDOT partners with the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association (PMTA), law enforcement and other safety-related organizations to sponsor regional safe driving competitions for high school students.

Impaired Driving Programs

The Pennsylvania DUI Association offers several resources that are designed to educate students about the dangers of impaired driving.

PennDOT School Bus Poster Contest

Each year, PennDOT sponsors a school bus poster contest for elementary students across the commonwealth in conjunction with National School Bus Safety Week.

Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Safe Driving Competition

The Pupil Transportation Association of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania School Bus Association hold a Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Safe Driving Competition every June to test school bus drivers´ knowledge of safety rules and safe operation of their buses in two types of bus categories: conventional and transit.

Buckle Up PA School Programs

PennDOT is encouraging schools to take advantage of free educational seat belt programs offered through its highway safety network for students in kindergarten through grade 12.
